Chun-Chi Wang’s project

PROJECT IN RESIDENCE

The project Image/Sound: Concept and Position took place in a Barcelona characterised by great cultural and social diversity, in collaboration with local people involved in the cultural and social life of the city.
The project presented a selection of artists reflecting on artistic practice and the relationship between the construction of identity and economic, social, political and historical conditions.
The participative process and the invitation of 12 artists revealed a diversity of working processes and ways of visibilising the work (video, presentations, exhibitions), including work by participating teams from the Faculty of Fine Art of the University of Barcelona, the Roue Libre y Bösediva project.

The project took place in three phases: two exhibitions and a workshop.

2/ EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Beyond the talk and discussion of his projects the artist wanted to involved the students in reflection on participative and community artistic processes with an action in the square in front of the MACBA Barcelona – a space of great cultural diversity and institutional importance.

Using an assembly process it was designed to test spontaneous and open participation processes.

3/ INSTALLATION AND PERFORMANCE

The next phase of the residency project of Chung-Chi Wang was an installation and performance by Bösediva who the curator invited to Barcelona:
